Women Paying It Forward - 2017

Thursday, January 19, 2017
7:30 AM - 9:00 AM
Women's College Hospital Auditorium

Join neWCHapter for a much needed breath of fresh air and restorative YOGA session in support of mental health initiatives at Women's College Hospital! Help us create an oasis of calm in the busy financial core and treat yourself to a physical, mental and spiritual journey. All funds raised go towards neWCHapter’s goal to raise funds for neWCHapter’s funding priority, Virtual Mental Healthcare at Women’s College Hospital. Virtual care, which involves using technology to see patients in unique ways, offers a solution to many of the barriers to access perceived by Canadians with mental illness. Health care providers are now able to provide virtual care securely and safely due to a growing number of applications on the market. Mental health care is particularly amenable to virtual care applications because visits often do not require a physical examination and can easily be done remotely. Help us support this important initiative!

Dr. Jennifer Hensel, a psychiatrist at Women’s College Hospital who oversees the virtual mental health programs, will be speaking at the event and sharing more about how this important program can support women in our community.

The yoga instructor will be Julian Brass. In 2008 Julian Brass founded Notable (http://www.notable.ca) the first digital lifestyle brand and consultancy designed exclusively for Canada’s millennials. Today, with over 1 million monthly visitors and 150,000 members Notable has grown to become one of the most recognized online brands and authorities in the country. Julian is outspoken about inspiring those around him to live a Notable Life. As a manifestation of achieving this balanced lifestyle in 2011 the Notable Awards were created. The “Notables” are known across Canada as “The Grammys” for Young Professionals and Entrepreneurs, they are the largest celebration for this generation in Canada.

The concept of living a balanced, Notable Life is reflected by Julian himself who operates Notable as the CEO but is also a certified Yoga Instructor and Motivational Keynote Speaker specializing in “Living a Notable Life” and helping decision makers understand the Millennial demographic.

He believes that every single, person, is capable of discovering what a Notable Life looks like to them and dedicates himself using the power of online media, offline events, public speaking, and a hell of a lot of weird looking yoga poses to helping those who want to achieve this, be it.

We're sorry, the deadline for buying tickets for this event has passed.
